Building for God's Glory - Update

In June, the Select Vestry hosted an information evening to provide an update on the proposed building works to the Parish Church. We have now published a leaflet, bringing parishioners up to speed on the project as it now stands. This leaflet is available to download at this link: Building for God's Glory.

If you would like to get involved in the project, then please don't hesitate to get in contact with any member of the Select Vestry, or through this website.

Postcard from Göteborg
Winter is here! The days are rapidly getting shorter and colder, but we praise God for warm clothes and a cosy apartment.
Praise God for some new faces at our Youth Bible Study and please keep praying for fruit that lasts. Also we have a new family at church. They have been listening to preaching on the internet for many years and are now travelling 45 minutes to fellowship with us. Please pray for M and her six children. Two of the girls are planning to attend Friday night youth group. Trevor is preaching this Sunday on 2 Samuel 13 and would value your prayers as we consider the question ‘Can grace deal with disgrace?’
Andrea has successfully completed the ‘Swedish For Immigrants’ course and will now move on to the next stage of language study. Trevor will sit his ‘C’ level national test in December. Please continue to pray for the girls. We had three encouraging Parent-Teacher interviews. Trevor, Andrea, Emily, Grace & Alice xx

Sermon Audio: Romans 8

Over recent weeks we've been thinking about 'living by the Spirit' as we've worked through Romans 8. It's been a great reminder of life as a Christian, with the Holy Spirit empowering and equipping us. We've still a couple of sermons to go in the series, but here's what we've heard so far:

Romans 8: 1-11 No condemnation

Romans 8: 12-17 Children of God

Romans 8: 18-25 The hope of glory

Sermon Audio: Haggai

Earlier in the autumn, we had a short series in the book of the prophet Haggai. Haggai was building for God's glory as he encouraged the returning exiles to rebuild the temple which was lying in ruins. We heard God's word to us, as we seek to build for God's glory here in Aghavea.

Here are the sermons for you to listen again:

Haggai 1: 1-15 Consider your ways

Haggai 2: 1-9 Continue your work

Haggai 2: 10-19 Clean or Unclean?

Haggai 2: 20-23 The Signet Ring

Language study is as tough (for Trevor!) as it is thrilling, with the continuing gospel opportunities. Pray for Lena, one of the teachers, who accepted and has just finished reading Greg Gilbert’s ‘What is the Gospel?’.
A group from church took part in the annual Bergsjön run. Please pray for the Bergsjön / Kortedala area, where the church is situated. There are many social problems and in the last few weeks this has again resulted in gang violence. Pray for the witness of the church.
Praise God for a good conference over this past weekend with Dr. Voddie Baucham. The subject was ‘Does the Reformation still matter?’ with almost 100 people attending.
Our fortnightly Youth Bible Study has had a very encouraging start. We have eight young people (3 + 5!) and we’re now two sessions in with CY. Thank-you for praying! Trevor, Andrea, Emily, Grace & Alice xx
